Had a great day at the Maker Faire. Loads of great techy, crafty, DIY fun stuff. Here are just a few photos.
Pinterest cards
I’ve been admiring lots of great cards on Pinterest lately and started pinning my favorites. So far I have over 40 cards pinned! So I’ve finally gotten around to trying my hand at creating my version of a card that I admired. Here’s my take on it and a link to the original by Maille Belles.
Stamp: Recollections – Paisleys; Ink: ColorBox/Stephanie Barnard – Grape, Strawberry and VersaMagic Chalk – Turquoise Gem; Bling: Queen & Company Goosebumps.
My version of the ‘wanna learn how?’ project
I found a great tutorial on www.reneepearson.com on how to span a photo across multiple photo frames and I just had to give it a try. Here is the first digital layout that I’ve done in a really long time and it feels really good to be creating again!
The Hunger Games have hit theaters!
If you haven’t yet read the trilogy, I highly recommend doing so before you see the movies. I very quickly read all three and am pretty happy with the way that Suzanne Collins wrapped the series. I’m excited to see the movie adaptation and happy that the movies are being made in the same sequence as the book and that they didn’t try to combine them into fewer movies.
I got our tickets to see the film in IMAX for tomorrow. I can’t wait! I’ll check back afterwards to let you know what I think.

2012 US Figure Skating Championships
Seeing the US Figure Skating Championships live and in person was so much fun. I was skeptical of going and sitting there for the almost 4 hours that our session lasted, but it actually get really fast and kept us entertained. The only thing missing was the commentator, but I didn’t miss that so much since I could look up the skaters on info on Wikipedia. I would definitely go again. Actually, it looks like we will probably go to the 2012 US Gymnastics Championship which will also be in San Jose this summer!
